In Februari 2017, winter storms caused closure of the popular coastal road in multiple locations between Monterey and Santa Barbara / Los Angeles. Parts of this road are accessible, but a major mud slide near Ragged Point is expected to obstruct traffic until September 2018. Please plan on longer travel times by taking the windy inland Nacimiento-Fergusson Road, 6 km south of Lucia.
